Dear clients and guests!
It is our obligation to warn you about illegal agents still operating on Croatian real estate (and rental !) market, as well as possible unprofessional agencies which will try to put pressure on you to buy property without checking the situation. Here are several hints how to recognize such illegal or unprofessional agents or agencies: - ask them to give you agent/agency licence registration number which you can check at Croatian Chamber of Commerce (or we can check it for you), ask them their company registration number OIB, ask them the address of their office and check if it exhist or not, ask them to show you insurance policy against business risk, check around what is average commission percent and compare it with what you were told by that agency/agent; check what internet says about them; find testimonials of their clients if such exhist; if they are not providing true information, or hide information or are missleading, you probably deal with illegal or not registered agent/agency; some of agencies advertise lower prices than provided from owners, those prices are false and are formed as trap to attract buyers; some agencies advertise properties for sale without having direct contact with owner nor contract with owner for mediation in sale of his property, or providing false pictures of advertised properties, or advertising properties which are not for sale aiming to attract buyer this way; if agent/agency put pressure on you to decide quickly about buying property, beware of possible fraud or criminal act. We strongly recommend you to hire experienced lawyer/solicitor who will check the agent/agency. We are also working with our lawyer to be sure that all information and documents which we prepare about property for our clients/buyers are clean and registered in court.

A two-hour ferry ride from Split, Condé Nast Traveler listed Hvar as one of the world’s top 10 most beautiful islands. Surrounded by sapphire-blue seas, this is another idyll of hidden coves, dense woodlands, and a clutch of quaint towns and villages. As it’s basically a long, skinny island, you’re never too far from the sea. Home to around 11,500 inhabitants, it’s definitely an “in” place–Giorgio Armani and Princess Caroline of Monaco have visited in the past. A low-lying island, Hvar claims to be Croatia’s sunniest spot with more than 2,700 hours of sunshine annually. Go in late June or July and wild lavender blooms everywhere: Hvar is perfumed by the smell during summer. Hvar’s main settlement is Hvar town, a renaissance beauty of 16th-century houses with a harbor, stepped stone streets, and a citadel that once defended the islanders against the Ottoman Turks. The only other sizable settlement is Stari Grad, at the end of a 4-mile-long bay on the island’s northern side.

New to the list. Hvar, set off Croatia’s ruggedly striking Dalmatian Coast, is well known among European jet-setters, and this year T+L readers voted it onto the list of top-ranked islands. Long and crocodile-shaped, the island is carpeted in aromatic fields of lavender, olive groves, and pine forests; craggy bluffs drop down to meet the shimmering Adriatic, where fabulous luxury yachts idle at anchor. The main port city of Hvar Town is a bustling mix of old and new: elegant, seven-century-old Venetian buildings and promenades house chic boutiques and sybaritic nightclubs, where a tanned, expensively clad young crowd comes to frolic.
